Principal photography has wrapped up for The Fence, a film written and directed by Lucy Gaffy starring Kenneth Moraleda.

Produced by AFTRS (Australian Film Television and Radio School), Kiki Dillon and Lyn Norfor of Emerald Productions Set in Villawood Detention Centre in 1992, it is a story of Virak (played by Moraleda) a Cambodia Refugee making a new life Australia. The film explores fatherhood and how our choices past and present affects the lives of people we love.

The Fence writer and director Lucy Gaffy is a graduate of the AFTRS Graduate Diploma Directing 2009 and also a current AFTRS Master of Screen Arts (MSA) student. Her recent film The Love Song of Iskra Prufrock screened at Cinema des Antipodes programme in Cannes 2012.

The Love Song of Iskra Prufrock  won 12 international and domestic awards, screened at over 60 international film festivals and was nominated for an Australian Film Institute award for Best Short Film. Lyn Nonfor and Lucy Gaffy are recipients of Screen NSW’s Emerging Filmmakers Fund for their next short film.

Kenneth Moraleda leads the cast with Filipino actor Felino Dolloso, Ben Wood, John Harding and Tony Cogin. After an extensive casting call to the Sydney Cambodian community they were joined by Vongsa Kong, Vibol Him, Nareth Sinh, Trai Ly and Em Puth.

The film is currently in post production and will premiere early next year.
